Director of Development and Major Gifts

Plans, develops and maintains a comprehensive private and public sector development program to enhance the mission and vision of The Arc Carroll County, to include major and planned giving, annual giving, individual and corporate donor programs to identify, attract and obtain philanthropic support for The Arc Carroll CountyThis is a full-time, exempt-level position with benefit eligibility.

Requirements include: Bachelor’s Degree, a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in annual giving and/or major gifts solicitation in the human services field, as well as some work in the corporate/foundation community, grant-writing experience, plus organizational and planning skills, including the ability to work in a team environment.

 

Day Support Specialist

Provides support for our individuals in living the life they desire and support in their vocational success. 

Requirements include: High school diploma or GED, the ability to lift/move a minimum of 50 lbs., a valid driver's license with no more than 2 points, and clean criminal and driving recordsOne year experience working with persons who are developmentally disabled preferred.  The completion of Arc-provided training is also required. The typical work schedule is Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm, for these regular part-time, 30 hours per week positions. Entry level rate is $10.00 per hour.

 

School Bus Driver (Floater)

Transports special needs children to and from school, conducts pre-trip inspections of vehicle, maintains trip reports and adheres to all safety rules and regulations.

Requirements include: CDL with passenger, airbrake and school bus endorsements; will train if necessary. The Floater position is regular part-time, 25 hours per week minimum, and it is benefit-eligible. Applicants must meet requirements of Carroll County Board of Education. 

 

Certified Nursing Assistant

Assists in the implementation of Individual Program plans and collection of data; assists with daily living activities and transportation; encourages relationship building and community participation of residents and their families.

Requirements include: High school diploma or GED, current CNA certification, a valid drivers’ license with no more than 2 points, clean criminal and driving records, and the ability to lift/move a minimum of 50 lbs.  Completion of Arc-provided training also required. Entry level rate is $12.00 per hour.  The Arc offers benefits for part-time employees working in a package of at least 30 hours per week.  Various schedules available.  Most include some evening and weekend hours.

 

Community Living Assistant

Assists in the implementation of Individual Program plans and collection of data; assists with daily living activities and transportation; encourages relationship building and community participation of residents and their families.

Requirements include: High school diploma or GED, a valid drivers’ license with no more than 2 points, clean criminal and driving records, and the ability to lift/move a minimum of 50 lbs.  Completion of Arc-provided training is also required. Hours are primarily evenings and weekends. The Arc provides benefits for employees scheduled to work in a package of 30 hours or more per week. Entry-level rate is $10.00 per hour.

  

Life Skills Instructor

Provides person-centered support and training in job readiness skills, job exploration, social skills, health and wellness, continuing education, self-care, individual rights and self-advocacy, math, reading, safety, and community access skills. Researches and develops material while providing meaningful skill-building activities such as sewing, cooking, food handling, gardening, seasonal plays, pen-pal communication, canning, and discussion of current events. 

Requirements include: Associate's degree in related field, at least one year of experience working with individuals who are developmentally/intellectually disabled, the ability to lift/move a minimum of 50 lbs., a valid driver's license with no more than 2 points, and clean criminal and driving records.  Experience writing lesson plans and teaching highly preferred.  The completion of Arc-provided training is also required. This position is regular part-time, 32 hours per week, and it is benefit-eligible.
