Life Skills Instructor (Full Time)

The Arc Carroll County has an opening for a Life Skills Instructor. This is a part-time, 30 hour a week position with health insurance eligibility.

Duties Include: Providing person-centered support and training in job readiness skills, job exploration, social skills, health and wellness, continuing education, self-care, individual rights and advocacy, math, reading, safety, and community access skills.

Requirements Include: Associates Degree and one year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities required. Experience in teaching or instruction highly preferred. Clean Criminal Record and Driver's License with no more than 2 points required.

 

Day Program Coordinator (Full-time)

Responsible for the overall coordination of the Day Program, to include supervising Day Program Specialists, managing schedules, overseeing client caseload, and assisting with direct care as needed.  

Requirements include: Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Sociology, Psychology, Education or related field, professional communication skills, at least one year of experience working with individuals with an intellectual or developmental disability, and the ability to lift/move at least 50 lbs.  Previous experience supervising others and coordinating human services programs highly preferred.  Must obtain/maintain CPR, First Aid, CMT, DDA-mandated and Arc-required trainings, and hold a valid Driver's License with no more than 2 points.  

 

Day Program Specialist and Employment Specialist

The Arc Carroll County has openings for Day Support Specialists and Employment Specialists. These are part-time 30hrs/week positions which provide supervision and support to clients in our Day Program. Ideal candidates will be versatile, flexible and creative.

Duties include: Support our individuals in living the life they desire.

Requirements Include: High school diploma or GED, one year experience working with persons who are developmentally disabled preferred, clean criminal and driving record, a valid driver's license with no more than 2 current points, and the ability to lift/move a minimum of 50 lbs. The completion of Arc-provided training is also required. The Arc offers benefits for part-time employees working at least 30 hours per week. Entry level rate is $10.10 per hour.

 

 Educational Partnership DORS/PETS Instructor

The Educational Partnership DORS/PETS Instructor (EPDPI) works under the direction of the Educational Partnerships Coordinator and runs classes for students ages 14-21 who are referred through the Division of Rehabilitation Services for Pre-Employment Transition Services (PETS). The EPDPI will teach a variety of approved topics, including job hunting strategies, social skills, self-advocacy, college emersion, and Summer Youth Employment (SYE) prep. Other topics may evolve, as appropriate. Instruction will include offsite field trips, offsite transportation, and classroom instruction. The EPDPI will also serve as a backup instructor for our post-secondary programs.

 Requirements include: AA or 60 credits in applicable field of study. Bachelor's degree and teaching experience is highly desirable. At least one year of experience working with individuals with an intellectual or developmental disabilities and the ability to lift/move at least 50 lbs.  Previous experience supervising others and coordinating human services programs highly preferred.  Must obtain/maintain CPR, First Aid, CMT, DDA-mandated and Arc-required trainings, clean criminal record and hold a valid Driver's License with no more than 2 points.

 

Certified Nursing Assistant

Requirements include: High school diploma or GED, current CNA certification, a valid driver's license with no more than 2 points, clean criminal and driving records, and the ability to lift/move a minimum of 50 lbs.  Completion of Arc-provided training also required. Entry level rate is $12.10 per hour.  The Arc offers benefits for part-time employees working in a package of at least 30 hours per week.  Various schedules available.  Most include some evening and weekend hours.

 

Community Living Assistant

School Bus Driver - Floater and Subs

Transports special needs children to and from school, conducts pre-trip inspections of vehicle, maintains trip reports and adheres to all safety rules and regulations.

Requirements include: CDL with passenger, airbrake and school bus endorsements; will train if necessary. The Floater position is regular part-time, 25 hours per week minimum, and it is benefit-eligible. Applicants must meet requirements of Carroll County Board of Education.
