Award winners for our Annual Dinner & Community Awards

The Arc of Carroll County recognized the following award winners at their 2017 Annual Dinner and Community Awards event.

Each year, The Arc recognizes individuals and organizations in Carroll County who have made a difference in the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The awards were presented at The Arc’s Annual Dinner and Community Awards on May 9, 2017 at The Portico in Westminster.  

Winners include:

Glenn Edwards - The Timothy J. Atkinson Award: honors a direct care employee of The Arc Carroll County who has demonstrated outstanding person-centered skills.

Bob Condon - The WAMM Special Appreciation Award: honors a person or group who has provided noteworthy efforts to The Arc Carroll County and people with developmental disabilities.

Capree Brown - The Spirit of Independence Award: honors an individual supported by The Arc Carroll County who has improved his or her skills and demonstrated determination for achieving his or her goals.

Jiffy Mart – Westminster location - Employer of the Year Award: honors an employer who employs people with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

Molly Riggs - The Special Education Professional of the Year Award: honors an education professional who has demonstrated excellence in providing quality educational opportunities and advocacy for students with developmental or intellectual disabilities.

Jim Bullock - Volunteer of the Year Award: honors an individual or group who demonstrates dedication to people with developmental disabilities through volunteer service to The Arc Carroll County or Arc-supported individuals.

Officer Timothy Rife - The Public Service Award: honors a person or groups with a high public profile who advance the public’s understanding of people with developmental disabilities.

Debby Standiford - President’s Award: Presented by the President of The Arc to an individual or group in Carroll County that provides extraordinary leadership, provides meritorious service, or makes an outstanding contribution to The Arc Carroll County and/or people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our community.
